Gambian president sacks VP and two ministers
Gambian President Adama Barrow sacked Vice President Ousainou Darboe, Agriculture minister Lamin N. Dibba and Trade minister Amadou Sanneh, Gambian presidency announced on Friday in a statement.
Isatou Touray, Minister of Health, has now been appointed to the position of the Vice President, the presidency said.
The statement added that Lamin Jobe has been appointed Minister of Trade, Regional Integration, Industry and Employment as a replacement for Amadou Sanneh.
Meanwhile, James Gomez, Minister of Fisheries and Water Resources, will oversee the Agriculture Ministry until further notice, the presidency added.
This was the second major cabinet reshuffle since Barrow took office in January 2017. Enditem
